Black Olives origin kalamata 

 

The black olive of Kalamata, is a variety of table olive of dark color, native of Greece. It is considered a high quality product by its organoleptic characteristics. It got its name from being from the town of Kalamata, located in the southern Peloponnese, Greece. Can be consumed directly as an aperitif, or be part of other dishes and is the star ingredient of the Greek Salad.

 

Beyond the monuments, without doubt, the star attraction of Kalamata is its famous olives, of the denomination of origin. Some say they are the best in the world. Intense black or violet deep, others purple almost black, stands out in its compact meatiness. Not only appropriate for the classic greek salad, also in the form of paté they are a pleasant snack. Green or black olives or even stuffed are of high nutritional value and with many Health Benefits  but in the case of the black olives still haven't found one which can be pitted against to the flavor of the whole, due to the bone which in turn keeps the flavor.
